We were recently introduced to Rochelle at okooko Hong Kong by a client.  We were looking to repaint some wooden shelving but didn’t want the chalk paint effect.  We got in touch with the amazing Amanda from Made By Mortimer and asked her to see if it would work, how would it look, what would the process be?  Having now used the paint Amanda has said she “really likes the company and can definitely see herself using them again”.  This is when we decided that we needed to find out the full story……

When Rochelle from okooko Hong Kong discovered eico paints she knew she had to collaborate with them as there is such a gap in the market in HK for good quality paints that are eco friendly and have an infinite range of colors. When Rochelle contacted eico she discovered the owner, Joakim, had purchased one of okooko’s beds and mattresses and therefore, a fan, so it was a mutual admiration for quality products that don’t kill the earth! To develop the okooko colour pallete they took inspiration from nature and at the time they had just started stocking Bedouin Societe linen from Australia which comes in a beautiful earthy, smoky pallete. okoodo worked with Sasha Young Design to develop a small, but comprehensive range of colors that are complementary to each other or can be a freature in and of themselves.

This is a quote from Sasha:
I was thrilled when Okooko approached me to work with them and eico on the colours for a paint collection. Both are brands with values and integrity that I admire very much. The brief was to create a curated collection inspired by Okooko’s clean, natural aesthetic and environmentally conscious approach. The result is a timeless collection of colours that mix and match really well. Importantly they are also useable across the board – for children’s rooms, adult’s rooms, family, working and relaxing environments – and on walls, floors and furniture alike. This was such a fun, inspiring project on which I am proud to have collaborated.

We’ve really enjoyed working with everyone on this project.  Thank you!
