What a year! It’s been full of ups and downs, and a lot of staying in!

Many people have learnt new crafts, talents and languages over the past year, not to mention tackling those big DIY and home styling projects you’ve been putting off for years.

Because of all this, I really believe our homes this Christmas should be full of fun, creativity, light, colour and texture.

Christmas may be a bit different this year, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be fabulously festive!

Here are a few Christmas decor ideas for 2020, including those from our favourite home decor brands.

Festive Foliage

More and more people are opting out of buying and decorating Christmas trees for Christmas, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have any festive foliage in your home.

Add a few sprigs of holly or mistletoe to a picture frame, fireplace or empty corner of a room to add instant Christmas vibes without the fuss of putting up a tree.

Go Faux

We’ve been using Amaranthine Blooms for years for their stunning faux flower arrangements and their Christmas offerings this year are wonderful.

We especially love the Tall Red Berry Branch and the Christmas Celebration bouquet, but they are selling baubles and wreaths online too.

Christmas Lights

Think beyond string lights this December to give your home that cosy Christmas glow. We’re talking candles, lanterns and extra lamps, without a white bulb in sight!

Brass factory Christmas decor 2020

Hong Kong staple, The Brass Factory, have some amazing lanterns that will add another layer to your lighting and we can’t talk Christmas decor without mentioning Cochine.

Cochine’s Christmas candles (pictured above) are just divine, have a 50hr burn time and come in beautiful packaging too.

Chrismas Dinner Decor

We love a bit of dining decor and no more so than at Christmas! And you don’t just need to decorate on Christmas Day.

If you don’t always use your dining table, then why not set it up for Christmas today to enjoy the sparkly decor all month?!

For table cloths and runners, have a look at The Mews Fabrics and Furnishings.

This year, we want to go for a real richness in our fabrics and furnishings. Think velvet, jewels, reflective materials; anything to make things sparkle.

And, when we talk about jewels, it’s not just the decorations, it’s also jewel colours like ruby and emerald.

Nothing says Christmas like Family…

Whether its due to closed borders or lockdown rules, many of us will be separated from our friends and families this year. So, bring them to you!

If you have a lot of photographs in your home, or maybe even a gallery wall, then why not replace the current images with photos of past Christmases?

Grandad in his Santa outfit or the kids opening presents, you’ll love wandering down memory lane to find the pictures and give your personal decor a Christmas boost.
